FINANCES
Our team relies on fundraising and participation fees to support our operations. Based on current athlete participation levels our team generally needs to cover approximately $15,000 a year in expenses.

Typical costs to support our team in any given year include:

-
Competition fees for State competition participation
-
Uniforms and equipment
-
Facility rentals
-
Miscellaneous expenses to support social activities, etc.

The average cost for participation in an individual sports season is approximately $50 – $75 per athlete.
These costs must be covered through fundraising, participation fees, and team-specific donations. The team does not receive funding from the state office to cover these expenses.

It’s important to note the St Cloud Area does not receive any funding from the State office or any government agencies. We are completely self-funded.

It’s particularly important to let your coach know if you will not be attending a State event. The team is obligated to pay for an athlete once registered even if they don’t attend.
Fees and Fundraising
Our team relies on fundraising, participation fees, and team-specific donations to support our operations. Here’s how you can help: Our primary fundraising events include:

-
SOMN Raffle Ticket Sale – Winter
-
Polar Plunge – February
-
Christmas / Holiday Wreath, etc – October / November
-
T-Shirt Sales – usually January and March
-
Brat Sales – Summer

Each family is expected to participate in at least one fundraising event a year. Without these funding dollars, the number of sports will have to be limited. Fees to cover actual costs may have to be charged if there are insufficient donations. Information about each fundraiser will be emailed as they occur.

Other opportunities to support the team include:

-
Many employers will provide a donation to a charitable organization if their employee volunteers a required number of hours per year.
-
Many companies will provide a corporate match to employee charitable donations.
-
Soliciting donations from area businesses with an approved provided form letter (must be hand-delivered).
