GOLF
St. Cloud Area Golf starts each June. We have a small but dedicated group of golfers. They currently gather for practice on the driving range, pitch, and putt and for golf course play. Options for the competition include “skills”, 3 hole, and 9 hole rounds. Bring your own clubs. Because of the individuality of the sport and golfers starting at different holes, it is mandatory that each golfer have a Level One with them throughout the course.

Practices are usually held on Monday nights but this depends on the preference of the coach and facility availability. As with other sports, you must attend the first few practices so that the Head Coach can assess your ability and record scores. In order to compete at State games, you must golf at the Area meet.
Newer non-golfers might want to begin by either just practicing and avoiding competitions or signing up for the golf skills event. Also, some athletes golf with a Unified Partner as “doubles” and this is a great opportunity to get non-athletes involved in our team. The partner must be Level 1 Coach Certified through the State. See www.somn.org to become a coach.

Attire for golf competition is either the St. Cloud Area golf shirt and dressy pants or shorts and golf shoes. Tennis shoes are acceptable.
